What a glorious day for a hike at Glenbow on the less used but beautiful east side. The trees at Yodel and later near the Bow River offered welcome shade. We decided to turn around about 1/2 km from the east park boundary as Iit was getting pretty hot and we were already at 6 or so kms. We had planned to come back on Bow River Loop but it is currently closed off for cattle so we came back the same way, enjoying again the shade on the Yodel trail before climbing the steep hill back to the parking lot. We saw a young osprey in the nest, deer and hawks along the way as well as lots of wild roses, some wood lilies, many other spring flowers and even orchids(-at Yodel).
